The spontaneous attempt to write something insightful here has failed. So let me dig out something old: *rummages through an old drawer....* Weird to be this way, The need to be popular and liked and so easy to get swept into it and drown.... stupid isn't it? it backfires loving to be popular backfires. A diary entry from my young naive days (some ten years ago). I was trying to be popular, trying to impress someone only to end up having my character destroyed and my reput...

Pirates! is a real joy to play and suitable for all ages. I just installed it, jumped in and started playing, and play I did, for 2 hours straight. I didn't read the manual (but I think I should, because it looks packed with info), and there is no in-game tutorial. It doesn't need one - the game was very easy to get into and you will be able to just pick up the gameplay along the way. You play the role of a young 20 year-old pirate captain out to find his family who were taken into bondag...

Should I send them out this year or not? Last year I sent out a few and got none in return. Most people are just too lazy in this day and age. But I think most people will agree that getting cards through mail is more exciting and meaningful than getting one through the email. I don't like e-cards at all. I think I shall sent out some cards afterall. It don't matter if I don't get any in return but it'll give me the right to grumble about it. heheh...

I hate you and everything about you. Not because of the color of your skin - I would hate you even if you are the exact same shade as me. Not because you are rich or poor - I would hate you either way. Not because of your religion, because I have no say on what a man chooses to believe. Not because you are thin or fat, since size doesn't matter. Not because you are smart or stupid, although I'm more to incline to think that the latter truly describes you. I hate you because you are you. The...

Here's a picture taken in MacRitchie Reservoir park. This is the place where they hold annual interschool cross-country competitions. The path sometimes run around the water, sometimes, it turns inward towards the forresty area. About a year or two back, a teenage girl who jogged along here or near this place was jumped on by a stranger and molested. An old couple came by later, found her naked and unconscious and bruised. She had been beaten up too. AFAIK, the culprit was never c...

So I already wrote that my father's father was tea merchant. My mother's father, who came up in the conversation over lunch with relatives today, was a blacksmith. As I heard it, he was chinese man who left his home in his youth and went to Thailand where he worked and got married. Unfortunately for him, his first wife passed on and so he came down to Singapore and married my maternal grandmother. Together they had eight daughters and one son. My mum was number 4. As I heard it, ...

My earliest memory is that of my paternal grandmother singing to me "Jesus love me yes I know, for the bible tells me so, little ones to him belong, they are weak but he is strong..." Of course she sung it in the Hokkien dialect, not in English, the words are exactly the same in meaning. Of all things, she is the greatest influence on my choice of belief. She was the one who instilled in me Christian values even before I could speak. I don't know how old or young i was when she first sung...

Swaying camera views, bulked bubble visions, know what I'm talking about? Example - Morrowind. Took me weeks to get used to the game before I could play it without getting virtual motion sickness. I played it for two hours one time, having too much fun, after that I really felt like throwing up. Back when Morrowind was first released, it really was one of those must-see games even if you don't like that genre. Gothic 2 was bad as well. Lots of people loved that game. I think it's grea...

I bought a PS2 last weekend. Look at this beautiful limited edition white PS2: It was a long debate for sometime within my mind whether I should get an xbox or a ps2. I just finally decided that a PS2 was it. This special limited edition package includes a 8MB memory card and a Gran Turismo 4 prologue, which incidently is the asian version and is entirely in chinese. (Although I am of chinese descent, my mastery of the chinese language is somewhat sub-average in the reading and writin...

The Electromark website lets you make custom signs, labels and other signage. No, I'm not a representative of Electromark, but I love to use their design-your-own-signs stuff. It's really cool. Here's some everyone can use... This is for all you points whores: This one is for Mignuna and anyone who is getting spammed: Here's a label you can use whenever you want to start a political debate: Want to tell someone that the topic has been posted before? Someone stumb...

I was thinking of searching for an article on the internet on the chinese art of tea drinking, because I can hardly remember the things my grandfather taught me. But that would not be authentic nor honest if I do that. My grandfather would not be proud if I did that. As he would say, "You must be proud of your roots." My grandfather was a tea merchant from China. Over the course of his life, he had been a merchant trading in all sorts of things, but his passion was chinese tea. Towards h...

It's the internet and we can all lie about our age. But can your posts tell others how old you are? Or does it say more about your maturity level. I think it's more the latter. Game forums notorious for having kiddie posters. We call them kiddies, I suspect, not necessarily because they are kids but that they behave like kids. Bad rap for real kids, considering there are many kids and young forumers who are civilised, well mannered and thoughtful with their posts. Some kids don't know how...

I don't have anything to write tonight. But here's a pic I took from a car, back when my friend and I was on a road trip in Australia, 2 years ago. It was taken in the late afternoon. (It's quite similar to Chiprj's pics Sunset On Kaua'i .)
