Let's have more of it!
Have you tasted this one yet, it's new and interesting. You know it's just between you and me. Have some and see what others are missing. Over here! Maybe we can gain some juicy piece of secret we can be smug about.

Look at me, I know something you don't. Don't you wish you know what I know?

Let's give them a hint, entice them with the smell of someone else's filth. Let's gather a crowd, let's go out and have a mob! Then we'll dance and celebrate our own greatness.

Here's the bandwagon, come onboard!

Tempting, sweet and absolutely poisonous.

Most definetly, Moderateman. Although, currently, I don't think the main topic is me. The looks one gets when one steps into a room where gathers a little circle of whisperers is enough to tell - they look kinda guilty-like, and it's funny.

growing up Jewish I learned very young about "yentas" they are people {women mostly} that thrive on gossip of the malicious sort.

Sorry about the gossip going on about you... but I usually think if there gossiping about you they must be jealous about you. get it?

I have been gossiped about and, sadly, I've been the gossiper. Not a good hobby for anyone on either side. BTW, I followed your link to the Holly Lisle website. Thank you! I think I have a new hero/mentor for wrting.

Everyone gossips but for some people, they seem to have a habit of it. They are very nosy about other people's business, they like to speculate, and speculate away for hours they do. They don't confront the matter or care for truths, they make up stories. Or they tell people things they shouldn't. They feed and enjoy themselves on other people's misery.

Ouch, Raven, really good writing. It's always so obvious when the person being discussed walks in and everyone goes quiet or someone starts talking loudly about nothing.
