Observations, thoughts and other assorted stuff.

It died sometime last week. Just wouldn't start up. I tried everything, reformat, reinstall, reinstall again. It worked, then it froze and it frozed for good. It's a goner. I'm using a temp comp that I have at home but this one's a bit slow and I don't like to use this one for surfing since it doesn't belong to me. So you guys probably won't 'see' me around until I get my new computer fixed up.

I'll be surfing here at work (ie when I can), but I won't be logging in and responding.

So take care, fellow Joeusers. When I get back , I sure would have plenty to rant about.

Try this...

You will need :

2 face cords of wood (mix of oak and pine)

1 live chicken

1 tub of woad (make from scratch if you prefer)

1 cast iron cauldron

1 cleaver

1 gallon of mead (4 horns worth)

5 sticks of cinnamon

1 drinking horn

Start by buiding a small fire with the wood and heating the mead in the cauldron over low heat with cinnamon sticks.

Once mead is warm remove from heat and consume 1 drinking horn worth while throwing the remaining wood onto the fire.

As the bonfire reaches it's highest intensity secure the chicken and the cleaver. Consume second horn of mead.

Approach the recalcitrant computer witht he chicken in the left hand and the cleaver in the right. Slash chicken's throat coating computer liberally with warm lifeblood. Consume third horn.

Attempt to boot computer. If it doesn't boot up consume fourth horn of mead, disrobe, slather your body with woad and burn down the nearest village. Worked for my ancestors anyways...

greywar: Thanks for a much needed laugh first thing on a Monday morning! You've been peeking at the secret Tech Support Repair Manual haven't you? That means someone broke the silence... now THEY must be silenced for breaching our ancient and sacred traditions!

Raven: I had that happen to me about a year and a half ago. Got a power spike that blew through my surge protector, blasted the PSU, which fried the board and half the components attached to it. Had to buy a completely new PC as a result.

Good luck Raven. If you plan to burn down any villages...you don't live near me, right?

Try #2: (Sorry if this turns out to be a double-post)

Good luck getting a new one. If you go with greywar's suggestion, post pics, ok?

Raven: Hey, sorry to hear about the computer...glad to see that you're hooked up again properly now, though. I haven't checked your blog site in a bit (apologies...I can be very self-absorbed at times...ok, always), but I'll be there soon.
