Observations, thoughts and other assorted stuff.

I'm off coffee all together since yesterday (12/1).

Somehow, yesterday morning, I just felt like I could and so I did it. I didn't take my usual morning cup of java.

In the afternoon, headache did set in but it was a bearable throb. I drank lots of water and cooled my head by wetting my forehead with a splash of water now and then.

This morning (13/1), the headache was gone. In afternoon, the headache returned but was even less severe than yesterday, a mere annoying tick and nothing more. By tomorrow, I probably wouldn't have anymore headaches, by tomorrow, I shall no longer be dependent on that morning cup of coffee to make it through the day!

I use to be a 12 cup a day Java drinker.  I started by dutting it half and half with Decaf.  Then started cutting back on the amount.  I was down to about 5 cups a day when my sister (living with me while she was seperated from her Husband) had to take my nephew to the hospital for open Heart Surgery (He has DS).  She had been making the coffee for me for about the past 6 months.  Well, I was lazy and just quit making or drinking it.  And no headaches.

That was 3 years ago.  Since then I dont do Caffeine at all (slipped up one day about a year ago - kept me up all night for 1 cup of coffee!).

Good luck on your quest to kick the caffeine beast!

You poor dear. Shall I send you a Starbucks gift certificate? I don't frequent the place, myself (evil, corporate whoring institutional coffee) but they do seem to be all over the world.

Glad your headaches are getting better.

Thanks, Danny.

A, , I have ever been to Starbucks but once. They are too fancy and expensive for me - and maybe it's just here, but the coffee isn't that great.

Thank you. The addiction is just in the mind now.
